Animal Report

The Irish Hare is a herbivore with long ears with black tips.It can reach up to 50 cm long and its fur is a reddish brown coat.Their eyes are black and they have ginger fur like a cat.

All of these herbivores sleep in the day in the hollow trees filled with forms. All rest in day and hunt in night like the New Zealand kiwi. Most of the hares try to stay awake so they can reach their prey.

Having to eat these foods every day are grass, bilberries and seaweed. They find these food near their den and bilberries are berries that on plants the creature collects these berries every night and eats them as their breakfast, lunch or dinner.

These species can jump up to 2 meters high nearly as high as Mr Hadnett and it can run up to 30 miles per hour nearly.Double the speed of a brown bear that is the speed of the Irish hare.

  Stop homework!
Many primary schools in New zealand have homework. In my school we have homework each week. They are maths, writing, literacy and mini inquiry. There are some reasons why I am against homework.

Firstly homework can stop you from doing chores (you might think that's cool but) Once you finish all your homework you’re going to be really tired from chores like dishes, laundry, cleaning, vacuuming, cleaning your bed and all the others. Next homework can take away family time for example “Naia time to go uncles house” then I say “I’m doing my homework” mum says “ok stay here” “NOOO!. I want to go!”

Secondly, homework can stop you from doing sports like soccer, rugby, netball, and basketball. It stops you from learning skills and you know what they say, practice makes perfect and if you don’t practice you can’t keep up with your skills. Sports can make you fit, strong and healthy.

Lastly, in homework there is no point because homework is work that students already know such as 15+5=20 too easy. Find 10 verbs and 10 nouns and put them in a wordsearch too easy.  Literacy, read a book and write about one character in a description then draw them, too easy!

Well, that's all the reasons why children should not do homework so they can have time with family, learn skills in sports and homework is making kids learn nothing.

Aboriginal Art

Making a sequential pattern - Aboriginal Art

  1.    Are you pleased with your artwork? Why / why not? I like my artwork because of the colours, background and my snake

 2. What was challenging when you did your sequential pattern artwork? When I made a mistake it was hard to make it like you did it on purpose

 3. What could you adapt / modify with your artwork? Add more colours and maybe add a few more patterns.

4. Who / what helped you with your sequential pattern artwork? To be honest it was 100% Miss Paton

5. If you were to teach a new person how to create your artwork under your theme (Aboriginal Art) what would be the teaching points / tips? To take your time to do your dotting and not to rush. Do small segments at a time\ Work with one colour at once before changing over

 6. What have you learnt about this process? What I learned is how patterns work in algebra.
